You were a light bulb, but I thought you were the sun

When I looked at you,

I saw potential.

How you could fit into the life that I wanted.

I thought I could be patient for you to grow.

And I tried to help you.

But little did I know, you didn’t want that for yourself.

You didn’t see that for yourself.

You were fine with where you were.

But I wasn’t .

I was reading the instruction manual

before realizing

I had the wrong pieces.
